Mobile -7- Habitat

The Mobile 7 Habitat is an experimental project conceived to explore the feasibility of creating a sustainable environment on a permanent mobile platform. A blueprint if you will, for others to use as an example & guide during these changing times.
The configuration of the platform will be designed around the needs of the project manager with purpose driven equipment, systems, and supplies being custom fitted to the platform.
All indispensable on-board items are to be carefully measured, weighed, and cataloged in order to utilize space and weight distribution for maximum platform stability, performance, and sustainability.
Once the data are collected and analyzed the platform will be ready to undergo the necessary modifications.

The Mobile 7 Habitat development plan is as follows:

  • Procure an acceptable, roadworthy diesel powered box truck or step van. Maximum spend - $8000. The goal is to find a healthy power plant for conversion to bio-diesel fuel. (Time line to be determined: perhaps year two.)
  • Once in hand the platform will be analyzed for maximum utilization of all spaces and systems. This includes under hood and under chassis augmentations. The latter intended to lower the platform's center of gravity for added stability.
  • A regular maintenance schedule will be adopted based on fleet maintenance standards. The anticipated yearly miles on the road equals less than 2000 miles.
  • After sketching up preliminary drafts of ergonomically sound designs and having submitted such for review by the investors detail drawings will be created.
  • Based on the results of the completed analysis and approval the refit work will begin.

This is a system for the agile, elastic, free thinkers who will be so desperately needed during times of major calamity and possible large scale failure of the basic infrastructure of our long-held sociopolitical constructs.

Next comes the exterior modifications

The Mobile 7 Habitat is to be a flagship project to support interest in creating a sustainable environment on a mobile platform. Thus:
  • Environmental earth tones on a Forest Service Green background. This is a vessel navigating tumultuous seas.
  • Solar & Wind Power equipment on the top platform .
  • Composting Commode & Gray Water treatment equipment.
  • Conversion of Diesel engine to Bio-diesel fuel
The configuration of the platform will be designed around the needs of the project manager with purpose driven equipment, systems, and supplies being custom fitted to the platform.
Perhaps by this mechanism we can bend the trending tide of "DISPOSABLE" tonnage by re-purposing serviceable inventories of hard resources for the enjoyment of a better, cleaner life.
